What is Product fee?

In short

A charge for taking out the product at all, separate from the interest you pay.

A product fee is a one-off charge for taking the product out. It is not interest, so it does not depend on how much you borrow, and it usually has to be paid separately. On a mortgage it can cover valuation and admin work. Some lenders charge nothing at all: 1822direkt, ABA Bank and Air Bank each charge a product fee of €0, $0 and CZK 0. ActivoBank charges €748.80. Absa Mozambique charges a product fee of MZN 0 to MZN 12,000, which runs up to a higher cap.
