The NCR registers the credit providers allowed to lend in South Africa, and each lender should show its registration.
South Africa's credit regulator, which registers the lenders allowed to offer credit and publishes the registration that should appear in a lender's terms. Absa lists NCRCP7, Boodle lists NCRCP5361 and Lendplus.co.za lists NCRCP17814. Formats differ, with some registrations carrying a letter prefix and others a plain number, so compare the full string rather than its shape.
