ASIC, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, licenses lenders in Australia and supervises how credit is offered, including fees, advertising and the making of loans. A credit licence number is the quickest way to check a lender. Credit24 holds 422839, SocietyOne holds 423660 and the Westpac home loan Referrer Program holds 233714. ING Australia publishes both its licence and its credit licence as AFSL 229823; Australian Credit Licence 229823.
